Gone are the days when a good cricket ground in Lahore could be booked for Rs. 1,500 – 2,000 on a Sunday to play a real ball cricket match. Now all the cricket grounds in Model Town and Faisal Town (cricket ground mafia) is charging Rs. 4,500 – 5,500 for a Sunday booking. This mafia controls the rights to use these grounds by getting them from the respective societies at a annual rent of only Rupees 30,000 – 50,000. Afterwards a heck of income is generated by this mafia. Pakistan Cricket Board should look into this matter and regulate all the good grounds of Lahore to promote Cricket at grass root level.
