Younis Khan missing Moti?

That was interesting. He should wait for nothing cute from his wife now at all. If she is who he meant the note for !

States Well Pitched:

After his century in the 3rd ODI against the West Indies in Abu Dhabi, Younis Khan instead of celebrating, took his gloves off, took a note out of his pocket, and showed it to the cameras.

Though GulfNews states:

In a rare celebration, Younis removed a slip of paper from his pocket which read ‘Moti, I miss you’ and flashed it- apparently to thank a former fielding coach!

Funny nevertheless.

World Cup 2007 Funeral

With Teeth Maestro already stating here about the up-coming anger mood in India, I almost ended up laughing to see this in yesterday’s paper (Dawn).

Mourners attending WC funeral in Ahemadabad

Where cricket fans were crying and gesturing over posters as they staged a mock funeral for Indian cricket after India’s defeat against Sri Lanka.

Now that Bangldesh wins against Bermuda, Bye Bye India ;)

Who’ll be the NEXT boss?

Few days back, I was watching a very interesting analysis by a sports critic, thought to share it with you all. The analysis was on the working capabilities of PCB bosses.

In times of Genral Tauqeer Zia (being in army), DISCIPLINE in team was expected of him, and that was the biggest problem in his days.

In Sheryar Khan’s time (he being a beaureacrat) it was expected of him that no issues regarding the management and relations will arise, but that’s where the things went wrong.

In Dr. Nasim Ashraf’s times, medical issues surfaced and blew off.

I wonder who’d be the nest BOSS to head Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), a jailer??

Inzi Bhai’s Last Appearance

Inzi bhai returns
Last ODI of Inzi Bhai Kingston, March 21, 2007

The man famous for his coolness (apart from AALOO scandal ;-) ) couldn’t help it out in his last appearance in ODI match and his last world cup appearance too. The return back to pavilion of Inzamam ul haque was a standing ovation by spectators, loud applause, Zimbabweans came pat his back and hand-shakes were witnessed, then the team came down to greet him and that was when the tears come rolling down.

We still love you and we still cherish the way you entertained Cricketing fans over years and years of time. I still remember the Inzi who smacked NZealanders and English team in 1992 with his brave shots.

Pakistanis Hail Inzi Bhai….!

I don’t want Pakistan to win the WC 2007

I may be the only one here to say this out, LOUD and CLEAR so that it reaches everyone.

Cricket’s NOW the God of all games for us Pakistanis.

But the recent announcement by our very dear Mushy, to reward each player with 5 Million Rupees, is something that at least I just cannot digest.

Even if any of Zainub’s reason do strike and they wins or if they reach till semi-finals, they’d be getting enough, for god sake. Is our hard earned money (and the huge tax deducted) is so worthless that 5 Million is to be given to 12-18 people.

With other sports still suffering – why are we so intent in rewarding the cricketers with utmost benefits and bulky monetary rewards.

Or maybe I’m forgetting that we are flourishing in a kingdom.

But Now I’ve a reason to be happy that this world cup will bring – almost 10 Crores would be saved – GOOD!

Wicket Keeping Dilemmas

Boucher took 6 catches in 4th ODI – which is simply superb for a wicket keeper. With world cup approaching fast – Wicket Keeping is one crucial field in which Pakistan lacks behind.

Kamran Akmal is not in good batting position as well as he just drop too many catches and miss stumping chances. It’s high time PCB start polishing some other youngsters for the HIGH task of wicket keeping, with prior focus on Wicket Keeping instead of hiring a batsman who can be a wicket-keeper.

Are YOU satisfied with Kamran Akmal??

PS: The match just ended and after a smashing 2nd ODI and a washed out 3rd ODI the 4th ODI between Pakistan and South Africa just came to a tragic ending … Yes Pakistan lost by 10 wickets. This is the first time that South Africa has defected Pakistan by 10 whole wickets. And traditions changed – Inzi didn’t said Thanks to Allah today ;)

Pakistan & Aussies – Any Chance?

Undoubtedly, Pakistan can amaze any living soul when it really comes out to play but with the glooming issues in fitness, fielding, wicket-keeping, amid “other” problems, I was quite amazed to see this statement made by the former skipper and key fast bowler, Wasim Akram.

Pakistan may surprise Australia in next month’s World Cup provided the team improves their fielding and key players hit form, said former skipper Wasim Akram.

The former bowling sensation was answering reporters’ questions after signing in as “Mobilink Cricket Ambassador”.

“Australia look favourites to win the World Cup in the West Indies because of their recent form as they have been winning continuously but it is becoming rather boring for the spectators,” Wasim said. “However, if any team can beat them in the Caribbean, it surely is Pakistani,” he expressed.
