Nasim Ashraf & his Resignation Bull Shit
1 Comment Published by Teeth Maestro 2 years, 11 months ago in Pakistan.Cricket Bloggers of Pakistan: Nasim Ashraf offered to resign, trying to follow the footsteps of Inzamam-ul-Haq who can be considered valiant enough to have accepted responsibility for the World Cup disaster. Nasim Ashraf, the supposed leader of the Pakistan Cricket Board literally ran from the media hovering someplace at an undisclosed location in the interior of Sindh, when on the other hand he should have been manning the fort, and ready to stand to take the heat, front and center. After all it was on his watch that things were going haywire, leading to the culmination of a first round exit.
Immediately a few days after the fateful loss to Ireland followed by the disastrous news of Bob Woolmers death Geo.Tv was able to locate this whimpering Son-of-a-bitch roasting his sorry ass at some feudal lord harem in Sindh. When Geo.Tv talked to him live in a telephonic conversation Ashraf had not much to say to defend the PCB organization but very soon indicated in a casual off-the-cuff remark in a last ditch attempt to save his sanity in front of millions watching Geo.Tv, that he had already tendered his resignation to the President of Pakistan.
There is a must watch video on Nasim Ashraf later in the post

Turns out the next day he is being quoted by Guardian as saying this is not the case, in facts he describes PJ Mir’s “claims” to that effect as being “inaccurate”, repeating that “nobody could be ruled out”.
Well Shields, if that is the case, why did you say only 24 hours earlier that “It’s fair to say they are now being treated as witnesses”. Does the ‘they’ in that statement not refer to the same Pakistani players?
Also, several news agencies have reported the results of the first autopsy were not accurate, but Guardian added that he might not have been murdered at all. In that same Guardian report linked to earlier, an unnamed PCB official is quoted as implying that the Jamaican police had acted ‘hastily’ by declaring Woolmer’s death as murder:
ICC Slams YouTube and also affects Google’s plans
1 Comment Published by Teeth Maestro 2 years, 11 months ago in Links.ICC in a surprising move today slammed the online video hosting site Youtube preventing it to host clips of cricket matches being played under the banner of ICC. Youtube in response to this notice has been quick to start deleting the offending videos.
The Chief Executive of ICC online rights protections agency (NetResult) told reporters,
“We are here to protect the commercial broadcast rights for the ICC and GCC and there is an issue here …. we have stringent contracts with TV broadcasters and with mobile rights holders. In today’s world, broadcasters buy highlights as well as live coverage and mobile rights means clips. There is an obligation to protect them.”
There is no doubt that the ICC wants to make millions off every match played on the cricketing schedule but I feel they have not understood the problem in its entirety and have turned a blind eye to this amazing technology. It should be noted that Youtube has some limitations which actually favor ICC, according to conditions set up by the basic YouTube account registered users cannot host any video that is over 10 minutes long and it will definitely be impossible to host an entire days play on Youtube. Internet users using this technology simply get a preview of the actual game maybe a sneak preview at a few selected shots played during the match and that’s it, I feel this preview is almost like watching the trailer of a new Hollywood, one simply gets a short preview of what can be expected in the long version of the video.
Pakistan Team cleared of Suspicion
1 Comment Published by Teeth Maestro 2 years, 11 months ago in Pakistan.Mark Shields of Jamaican Police Department has revealed that he does not suspect any member of the Pakistan Cricket team in the murder investigation of Bob Woolmer.
But what has been interesting to note is that fact that Mark Shield suspects three Pakistani fans who had socialized with players at Kingston’s Pegasus Hotel where Woolmer was strangled. The report said the three were believed to have left Jamaica shortly after Woolmer was found dead on March 18.
The investigation is still in process even the evaluation of the CCTV cameras that were installed in the hotel. It is a definite sigh of relief to hear that no Pakistani player was involved in this mixup as it would have lent a very bad impression into everything.

PCB & ECB Settle Oval damages
0 Comments Published by Teeth Maestro 2 years, 11 months ago in England, Pakistan. The English Cricket Board and Pakistan Cricket Board have finally settled the ECB’s compensation claims relating to the forfeited Oval Test in August which resulted after Darryl Hair accused the Pakistan Cricket Team of ball tampering. The legal battled for compensation for ECB since the incident resulted in damages to ECB since there was no match played on the 5th day. The ECB for sometime was trying to pin the damages onto PCB which in turn was deflecting the claim to the ICC as it claimed to have been a error in judgement created by the ICC appointed match official. In the final settlement Pakistan will play a Twenty20 match in England in 2012 and waive the fee.
The forfeiture occurred when the Pakistan team, penalised for ball-tampering by umpire Darrell Hair, refused to take the field for the post-tea session on the fourth day. England were awarded the match with a day to spare. The ECB had asked the PCB to pay damages worth $1.3 million for the lost fifth day, a request the Pakistan board rejected.
With Teeth Maestro already stating here about the up-coming anger mood in India, I almost ended up laughing to see this in yesterday’s paper (Dawn).

Where cricket fans were crying and gesturing over posters as they staged a mock funeral for Indian cricket after India’s defeat against Sri Lanka.
Now that Bangldesh wins against Bermuda, Bye Bye India

Match-fixing in cricket: Separating the facts from the myths
0 Comments Published by zainub 2 years, 11 months ago in Pakistan. Now I have to make an admission first, given there is still no concrete evidence what so ever of match fixing having anything to do with the murder of Bob Woolmer, I find the constant speculation in this regard increasingly annoying.
In fact I find the whole debate on match fixing annoying. It is not an aspect of our game I like to discuss. But given so many people have been voicing their opinions in this regard off late, and they really are, nothing but personal opinions, here I am blogging about it.
You expect people like Rashid Latif and Sarafaraz Nawaz to be making the noise, as Moin Khan said in response, Sarafaraz probably thinks every match is fixed. So I’m not sure we should take him too seriously, but off late the list of people with doubts and suspicious has seen an increase.
Michael Vaughan joined in by saying his gut feeling was that some corruption in the game still exists, Shehreyar Khan, the ex PCB chief, has now added that he thinks spot fixing (which involves, in case you didn’t know, fixing minor aspects of game, such as the number of extras bowled, as opposed to the entire result of a game it self) still happens and that it is something you can’t really prevent.
