During the third day’s lunch break of Pakistan’s second test against South Africa, Sarfaraz Nawaz made some idiotic comments about coach Bob Woolmer in the PTV’s “Expert Opinion” show. I don’t have his exact quote, but Sarfaraz said that foreign coaches only intend to destroy teams, and accused Woolmer of intending to destroy the Pakistan team and conspiring to kick out Shoaib Akhtar, which he deduced from the heated argument scenes between Woolmer and Akhtar.
Sarfaraz should know that it is Akhtar who has had an attitude problem, not Woolmer. He should also know that Akhtar has also been at odds with Inzamam in the past and it doesn’t mean that Inzi was conspiring against Akhtar or intended to destroy the Pakistan team. Now, some would say that Inzi won’t intend to do such a thing because Pakistan is his team. Well, Woolmer also calls Pakistan “my team”, and instead of destroying the Pakistan team, he was the one who coached over the team that destroyed the Ashes winning England team last year in Pakistan.
So, it is not right to say that foreign coach will always intend to destroy the team while a native coach or player will not. Native players can also fix matches, nothing new about it. Sarfaraz demanded to remove Woolmer as a coach, and others have also expressed their dislike for foreign “gora” coaches. Is it because they don’t want a foreigner to take up the job position or is it only discrimination and dislike based on nationality or race?

seems like everyone has an opinion nowadays. is sarfaraz xenophobic? i betcha.
Last I heard, his contract is due at the end of the World Cup and I don’t think the PCB intends to renew it. Personally, I think it would be good to have a fresh face at the helm of Team Pakistan considering they have worked with Woolmer for some time now. Here’s hoping PCB find someone good to replace him and it doesn’t necessarily have to be a “gora” (contrary to PCB’s belief apparently).
Its stupid to see someone defend a rouge cricketer, In my opinion Woolmer has changed the Pakistani cricket team, far better then when Javed Miandad and other oldies who tried to run the show. Sarfaraz and the sorts are simply using Woolmer as a scape goat.
Shoaib is a nuisance, the only this is his pace creates as ‘Dahsahat’ value that is it. I personally have been against his inclusion long since he started caring for is over inflated ego. If hes out I say Good riddance
Conspiracy theories from all the ex-cricketers are so ridiculous….
Stupid blog, shoaib has an attitude problem?People who run PCB have an attitude problem,Sami and Rana have no attitude problem as far they are concerned, they would love to see them thrashed by opposite team and relax as they are no threat to their power(people like Salim Altaf)
Grow up people, pakistan won only one test match, and that was mainly because shaoib destroyed south africa, although he injured himself in the process.
Is Mr.Fahad or Bob Woolmer going to go and help pakistan win the world cup? What did shoaib do?Bowl fast?Almost all the fast bowlers have injury problems,it is funny people put all responsibility on him when all the 11 players have equal responsibility of winning the match,he has the same ball and same 22 yards to cover like Rana,Gul or Sami who are supposedly team players and people with no attitude problem and rarely win pakistan matches.
